About the lack of new posts

It’s the busy review writing period, so most of the activity in the next couple of weeks will be on the front page. Just today we’ve published reviews of the recently finished Nodame Cantabile ~Paris Chapter~ and Detroit Metal City, which ended in October, and we’ve got reviews of Kannagi, Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka, Rosario + Vampire Capu2 and Macross Plus, among others, coming very soon, as well as our traditional annual Year in Review article, where we look at the biggest and/or best anime of the year. After that, we’re likely to have reviews of Chaos;Head and Ga-rei-Zero further down the road. In the meantime, as an apology for lack of activity, here’s a high-res scan of a very sexy looking Kyou from the 2009 Kyoto Animation Clannad calender. You can get the rest of the series from here. Happy New Year, all.

  1. The Year in Review articles are my favorite ones on this site and I look forward to when you finally post this. I do think the article this time around might be a tad interesting due to the lack of strong titles this year. Not to mention, this time you have one or two more people added to the staff for their input as well. I can probably a guess a few titles (especially the obvious Code Geass) to make it. But, the rest should be interesting enough.

Too bad some of the more solid/better animes of this year came in a little late and will finish up next year. Not that there was much at all to begin with. But, at least these titles are actually feasible enough with enough promise behind them. Well, I sincerely hope that next year will be better. I will also wish you all a Happy New Year as well. Cheers.

  2. I was a little surprised when I look back at last year’s editorial on Best of 2007, and realize that Dennou Coil and Minami-ke actually flew under our radar. It easily should have been selected for commentary in the editorial, although this is just my opinion. More importantly, my point is we seem to be more involved in evaluating which anime deserve to be commented in the editorial and due to so, hopefully we have more complete coverage for this year (this remains to be seen though).

I want to see how the article will turn out, and hope that it’ll be as interesting as last year’s, if not better.

  3. Every year’s review has deserved titles that we miss. In 2006, we missed Bokura ga Ita. In 2007, it was Dennou Coil and Towards the Terra (IIRC, we discussed Minami-ke and eventually determined it wasn’t list-worthy). It’s tough to try to cover a year’s worth of anime between eight or so people. That’s why I like the idea of us striving to try to miss as few worthy titles as possible.
