@Karisu
Given what I've studied extensively, how can I not? =D

@gaguri
An aggregate staff profiling of say... 50 shows would have been an interesting exercise like in the Year in Review articles we pen each year. Also, I really do need to check out some of the titles on your list. Good for when a slow season materializes.

nice~ I have just over half of your list under my top 50, most of them being my 'upper' favourites =D. I was actually hoping more for a list that nihonreview would compile as a team as opposed to x number of individual lists, but nice to see preferences of each reviewer in any case.

@kadian1364
I recommended that policy to be consistent with the way we review titles. Yes, the way the seasons are separated is arbitrary, but it's not us who chooses it, it's the studios. Don't forget there are also major differences in how some sequels are approached/handled, who directs them, which studio animates them, etc, which can lead to major differences in quality. If zzero had considered Gunslinger Girl and Gunslinger Girl ~Il Teatrino~ as one combined entity, would he have considered it list worthy? Probably not. Better to spotlight worthwhile individual series than fumble around with franchises that sometimes have unreliable or disappointing sequels or seasons.

I always find it a little weird when a list singles out a particular season. Why just Origination when the Animation and Natural were just as enjoyable and helped build up those great moments? Aria could've been one big 52 episode series. The delineations between seasons is somewhat arbitrary. Why not just pick a favorite episode or story arc?

If it were me, I'd take into account all available seasons and count them all as one title. Then there's no need to double dip into a franchise or separate Clannad from AS when they really shouldn't be.

Very pleasantly surprised to see Spice and Wolf make the list! It's an absolutely favorite of mine. I knew Clannad would make it, so that was no shock, but also good to see Kanon on there too.

Overall, great list!

@Chii
It's an epic story that takes its time to develop, but the execution is near-flawless. That said, I'd still approach it like you'd approach any other show so that you're not burdening the show with expectations :p

@Fuu
I've never seen Mononoke :< I really do need to get to that particular arc in Ayakashi though.

@Sorrow-kun & AC
It's an issue of consistency. ~AS~ trotted out some particularly brilliant moments, but the first 8 episodes was the albatross around that show's neck. Clannad, for me, was more consistently enjoyable for the entire journey.

@Ayumikat
I think a lot of these lists that people are posting carry with them a certain degree of similarity in the titles that show up. If anything, it's given me a lot of stuff to check out and hopefully others view it in the same light.

@Baka-Raptor
It would have been #21.

@Scamp
I'd like to think that it's my way of being able to recognize the flaws in my subjective favorite.

And oh god yes, that's something you must do.

@Panina Manina
I figured Haibane was one show people are going to ask about and I will say that it's a very good show. Not top 20 material (for me anyhow), but definitely top 50. Also, I haven't seen Fantastic Children, though people have told me that I should.
